DNA VAI Application

Product Summary

The DNA Value-add Information (VAI) application correlates the DNA discovery data with data from external sources, such as lifecycle data from network device vendors, and common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs) from different sources. The DNA VAI application is open for future extensions, such as energy consumption information of network devices, PCs, and energy devices, security information for security and risk analysis, as well as compliance checks.

There are two approaches to these data. They can be downloaded from the neteXpose Knowledge Server to the DNA station, and they are made accessible by providing an API to a Third Party Application, such as Cisco Discovery Services (CDS). Users which decide for the neteXpose Knowledge Server approach, have access to the DNA VAI documents, and can add their own documents to the DNA VAI application. API users have access to both – the neteXpose Knowledge Server data and documents, as well as to the Third Party documents and services.

Features

The DNA VAI End of Life (EoL) application offers product lifecycle information on network devices from Cisco and selected other network device manufacturers
The DNA EoX reports indicate the dates for end of sales, end of software maintenance and last day support per chassis, component and operating system, and give access to the related product announcement of the manufacturer
The DNA VAI CVE application reports on common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs) on Cisco IOS software. The CVEs are not only obtained from Cisco but from other public and private security organizations such as the National Vulnerability Data base (NVD) and others
The CVE report offers a CVE summary, indicates the NVD vulnerability severity rating, and lists other references reporting on that CVE
The DNA VAI application comes with different templates to document the network discovery results. Each template automatically creates a Microsoft Office Word™ document including tables, diagrams, and text. Partners and customers can create their own templates in local language and run them as part of the DNA VAI application. In addition, every report can be exported to Microsoft Office Excel™
Applying the neteXpose Knowledge Server approach, correlation of discovery with external data, as well as report creation is executed on the DNA station to ensure data security and privacy
API users can access additional API-related reports and information; discovery data analysis is done by the API provider
