| DNA Network Topology Visualisation
Product Summary
neteXpose DNA now supports two Java-based visualisation applications, the new DNA Network Topology Visualisation v1.0 and DNA-integrated Basic Visualisation.
DNA Network Topology Visualisation v1.0
DNA Network Topology Visualisation v1.0 clearly puts the emphasis on visualisation of large multi-site networks. It comes with integrated graph layout technology, offers highly sophisticated display, viewing and editing features, and produces a variety of network maps. The application is realised as DNA add-on module.
Features
- High-performance graph visualisation solution quickly generates layer 2, layer 3, and hybrid layer 2/3 network maps, even in large networks
- Integrated graph layout technology reveals complex relationships in network topology data by automatically computing diagrams, and positioning network devices, end stations and connections, generating clear, structured and aesthetic maps
- Several layout styles, sophisticated graph display, viewing and editing features supported
- Drill-down from high level views to lower levels, including every single device and connection
- Overview Window displays the complete drawing, when zooming, scrolling, or panning modifies the view port of the drawing canvas
- Icon palette offers a variety of network device and other icons which can be dragged onto the drawing canvas
- Maps are connected to DNA Reporting Tool, supplying users with inventory information on different levels:
- Device labeling with IP address, name and vendor
- Moving the mouse over a connection will display its start and end point, including IP address, name, and device vendor
- Right mouse click on a device will open its DNA Device Report, and give access to other drawing options
- Navigate connections: Moves the cursor along a connection to its switch and back to the start position
- Search facility locates every map devices based on Host name, IP address or MAC address
- Multi-user web access to drawings and reports
- Export facility to Microsoft Office Visioâ„¢
Benefits
- Accurate, complete, and affordable network documentation
- Minimises time for documentation draw up and updates
- Gives network staff a complete infrastructure overview into
- topology and device distribution on layer 2 and layer 3
- network neighborhood relations
- connection types, bandwidth availability
- Improves network planning and operations efficiency by rapidly identifying the physical characteristics and location of network devices
- Enhances network security

DNA-integrated Basic Visualisation
DNA-integrated Basic Visualisation offers all current DNA visualisation features.
Features
- Layer 2 Neighbourhood Map shows the immediate layer 2 environment for a selected device, e.g.
- switch, connected other switches and end-stations
- end-device, its switch and all other devices
- basic device data, e.g. IP address, type, vendor
- slot/port connectivity data from a selected device to its switch
- Layer 3 Next Hop Map shows
- selected device, subnets and next hop routers
- IP traffic flow from a selected device through the subnet
- next hop routers, communication information
- basic device data
- Network navigation
- Clicking on a device in the periphery opens the Layer 2 Neighbourhood Map of that device
- Clicking on a subnet will display its Next Hop router map
- Active maps. Right-clicking on a device displays the following options:
- properties menu, displaying the device's characteristics in the DNA main window
- Switch to Layer 3 Map
- HTTP, FTP, Telnet session to that device
- Export facility: JPEG, Microsoft Office Visio
Benefits
- Detailed views into network topology and device distribution on layer 2 and layer 3
- Fast identification of network neighbourhood relations
- Enhances network planning and troubleshooting
- Time and cost savings in producing network documentation automatically
- Export facility to common network visualisation applications for easy generation of large, multi-layered network maps
- Multi-user web interface for easy access to graphics and reports
