Window to display information on a selected map object in the Main Menu
Offers tools to work on maps, e.g. search, highlight, add/delete, switch over to DNA Reports Application>7lis>
Supported Interactions between Main Menu and Control Panel
Drill-down from high level network views into single devices and connections in the Main Menu and get asset, configuration, and status information on every level in the Control Panel
Create customised maps by selecting devices or device groups in the Control Panel and adding them to the drawing canvas in the Main Menu
Use the tool pallet of the Control Panel to highlight, add or delete objects in a map or to display the asset or configuration report of a selected map object, e.g. devices report, subnet report, VLAN report
Supported map drill-down levels and related Control Panel information
Subnet level
Subnet Overview Report: subnet address, mask address, min IP /max IP address
Subnet Content Report: Subnet member list, including IP address, MAC address, description, and subnet statistics such as: IP in use, free IPs, total IPs
Device level
Device Overview Report: name, IP address, type, model, manufacturer

Three Map Approaches supported
Top-down approach using the pre-defined DNA Maps
Pre-defined DNA maps are automatically created by a single click
User can drill down from high level network views into single devices and connections to understand the relationships between the network objects, and to get basic information on assets, configurations and links
Bottom-up approach
Uses DNA Filters Builder to select the data base devices
Uses the Graph and Layout tool to create customised maps
Mixed approach
Use a DNA pre-defined map, copy parts of it to a drawing canvas, and customise them
Start with a DNA report, e.g. subnet report or VLAN report, which will be automatically visualised by a single click, then customise the view
Supported Map Formats
Maps are automatically saved in DNA, JPEG and Microsoft Visio format
Filters Builder
Tool to filter database objects on different attributes to create customised maps or special maps such as EOX maps
Pre-configured EOX Filters filter devices of a selected map which are End of Software Maintenance (EO_SW_MAINT), End of Sales (EO_SALES), Last Day Support (LAST_DAY_SUPPORT) at a certain date, before a certain date or after a certain date
Pre-configured ObjectTypeID Filters filter devices based on the objectTypeID field of the database, e.g. router, switch, printer
DNA Cisco Discovery Services (CDS) API Features
The neteXpose DNA CDS API gives Cisco Partners access to the Cisco CDS Backend System to send the DNA raw inventory data of a certain customer network, and to receive processed Cisco network device analysis for the purpose of generating a customer inventory profile report (IPR) by which documents the network lifecycle information for presentation to the customer.
DNA CDS CISCO Tab
Provides the partner and customer registry and lookup functions. This tab is used to register the partner and customer combination in CDS
DNA CDS DEVICE Tab
Used to select the devices and create the device list the user wants to send to the Cisco Backend System
DNA CDS Transactions Tab
Functionality to handle one invocation of the DNA CDS API end to end service with a given data set
The Cisco Backend System constantly tracks the transaction status and returns status information to the DNA CDS API helping the user to manage and monitor the transaction process
DNA CDS Tab
To select the information the user requests from Cisco by simply clicking on the information’s name
DNA CDS REPORTS Tab
Creates - after successful completion of the transfer - the neteXpose DNA Reports and the Microsoft Office Excel Reports depended on the CDS information the user has asked for
DNA v3.5 Software Release
neteXpose DNA version 3.5 supports all DNA 3.4 features as well as the new DNA Value-added Information (VAI) applications. The DNA VAI applications correlate the DNA network inventory data with data of external sources. DNA v3.5 offers the following applications and features:
Lists:
Lists supplies the DNA inventory data in XML format for correlation with external databases and for documentation.
End of Life (EoL):
The EoL application correlates the DNA inventory data with lifecycle data of Cisco and other network device manufacturers. The application offers:
- EoL reports per vendor, per chassis and components, per hardware type, per model, per operating system.
- Lifecycle information: End of Sales, End of Software Maintenance Support, End of Service, including color-coded scheme, and link to the related EoL announcement on the web site of the manufacturer.
Security (CVE):
The Security (CVE) application correlates the DNA inventory data with the dictionary of publicly known security vulnerabilities and exposures, created by the MITRE Corporation (http://cve.mitre.org), as well as other security information sources, such as manufacturers, and private and public security portals. With this release, Security CVE reports are offered for Cisco IOS. The reports contain the following information:
- CVE ID and date of the National Vulnerability Database (NVD). Clicking on the CVE column will open the NVD web site (http://nvd.nist.gov/).
- Summary: CVE summary per software release.
- Score: NVD Vulnerability Severity Ratings per CVE.
- References: List of other security source, reporting the same CVE. Clicking on one of the names will open the web site to that organization.
Documents:
The Documents menu offers a variety of templates, automatically describing the inventory results and lifecycle reports, including text, tables and diagrams.
- EoL report export to Microsoft Office Excel
- Microsoft Office Word templates to document the DNA inventory and the DNA VAI results
Config Tools:
VAI utility menu to download the EoL and Security (CVE) data from the neteXpose server, and to create or import an XML database file.
